Choose one of the strategies recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics to prevent

poisoning and design a public education media campaign that is aimed at parents of young
children. What will you stress in your one-minute ad?

What will be an ideal response?

I would focus on the importance of parents/caregivers giving children the recommended
dosage of medications to their children. I would have tips and steps for parents to take to prevent
accidental poisoning from occurring, such as, reading all directions prior to giving your child any
medication and using measuring devices included in the medicine rather than your own measurers. I
would also suggest they keep a log of when medications are given and the dosage given as well as any
observable reactions from their child.
