What are selective pressures and how do they relate to natural selection?

What will be an ideal response?

Selective pressure is "each factor (that) can affect which individuals survive and reproduce and which are eliminated." These are environmental resistance factors such as predators, parasites, drought, lack of food, and temperature extremes. Individuals that are able to survive (avoid or cope with selective pressures) are those that can reproduce.
