What are subjective versus external motivating factors for research?

What will be an ideal response?

When researchers provide autobiographical motivations for research, it is a way of describing the initial biases, values, and theoretical orientations that produced the project. These are subjective motivational factors. There are also motivating factors external to the researcher's hopes and dreams that motivate research. One is geographic proximity to subjects, and opportunities to access a population. Many researchers study certain settings not because of high ideals (subjective motivations), but because of simple convenience and ease of accessibility (external motivations). The method of motivation can impact how a researcher reports findings. A researcher who is deeply attached emotionally to a topic may need to include personal feelings in research more in order to define the full setting the research took place in, since the research is a part of the studied world. A researcher who is not as emotionally attached may be more objective and sterile in descriptions.
