Discuss the advantage of the single transmit wire and single receive wire in a serial data transmission.

What will be an ideal response?

An advantage of serial data transmission is its simple connection requirements: a single transmit wire and a single receive wire (plus a ground wire). With only one transmit wire, it is not possible to send a separate clock signal with the waveform. This is referred to as asynchronous communication. To compensate, the start bit is used to synchronize the transmitter and receiver.
