What is theory of mind? How does it work?
What will be an ideal response?
Theory of mind is an awareness of how one's mind and memory works. Understanding theory of mind allows us to make predictions about behavior because we can infer the mental processes that precede it. Theory of mind is necessary for a child to become less egocentric and to understand that others can think about the world and objects in ways that differ from their own thoughts. Theory of mind develops as a child begins to think about objects and how they are represented in their own mind. Theory of mind allows children to begin to predict what other people will do.
