Contrast management with leadership and explain their relationship to one another using John Kotter's criteria.

What will be an ideal response?

Management is the system of action that deals with complexity, and leadership is the system of action for dealing with change. Management copes with complexity through planning, budgeting, organizing, staff, controlling, and problem solving. Leadership copes with change through setting direction, aligning people, and motivating and inspiring.

Neither is more important than the other, but in fact they are complementary systems of action.
