Describe a SAN and its benefits.
What will be an ideal response?
A SAN connects multiple servers so that all data appears to be stored to a single source. This approach is much easier than managing individual disks on multiple servers. Using a SAN, system administration tasks such as disk replacement and routine backups are easier to manage and schedule. In some SANs, disk arrays can be automated to copy data to other disks for backup without requiring processing at the servers.
