Explain reasons why the environmentalist's mantra is "reduce, reuse, recycle." Is this a proper order? Is there a downside to following this motto?
What will be an ideal response?
It does appear in the mantra in the proper order.
Reduce: Reduction is always a good policy for saving energy and materials because it
prevents spending energy and/or money.
Reuse: The use of a bottle to store something is a way to save the cost of purchasing a
container for storage, for example.
Recycle: If the other options are not available, recycling leads to saving in materials.
