Discuss the skeletal muscle adaptations that occur with strength training

Muscular adaptations occur after neuromuscular ones, but include: an increase in muscle fiber size, due to an increase in myosin heavy chain proteins inside the fibers; no changes in capillary or mitochondrial densities; an increase in ATP, creatine phosphate, glycogen, fat mobilization, and anaerobic enzyme activity; and increases in ligament, tendon collagen, and bone strength with a reduced body fat level.
