Describe the characteristics of a grand theory of development
What will be an ideal response
Grand theories are comprehensive, in that they explain, or attempt to explain completely, one or more
of the three domains of developmental psychology: biological, cognitive, and social. They are

generations of people and still be relevant. Indeed, the only way to "test" developmental theories is to
see if they can withstand logic and critical thinking. They can be widely applied across differences in
race, gender, culture, and ethnicity.
