There is no prevention measure currently available for Type 1 diabetes. There is a blood test that detects antibodies against islet cells that can be given to someone at risk to help ascertain their present risk. A balanced diet low in fats and concentrated sugars, weight management and physical activity can all help in better management of the disease and prevention or at least delay of some of the complications.
