Real-world learning involves minimizing the artificial atmosphere of the classroom by helping students to see how academic concepts will help them in real life. Examples of skills that might be emphasized here are reading skills, mathematic concepts, trips to the museum to demonstrate artistic concepts, and nature walks to emphasize scientific principles.
