College and student affairs counseling – Help students work through psychological and emotional issue that may affect their academic success and personal development.
Marriage, couples, and family counseling – Collaborate with family or couple to understand the implicit purpose of the symptom that brought them into counseling, how it developed and persists, work to alter behaviors and cognitions related to family development, and prevent future problems.
School counseling – Assist students with a range of academic, personal, social, and vocational issues, engage in preventative and developmental counseling, make clinical judgments and make referrals to community agencies, assist with student testing and assessment, serve as home-school-community liaisons, collaborate with a variety of professionals. Primarily work in elementary and secondary school settings.
Clinical rehabilitation counseling – Works with individuals with cognitive, mental, developmental, physical, and emotional disabilities to attain their individual, occupational, and self-determined living goals in the most holistic settings possible through counseling.
