Explain why police officers might be reluctant to change to community-policing policies
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Police see their job mainly control of illegal behaviors, which does not always coincide with creating positive public opinion. Police are also reluctant to place any control in the hands of others, and resist intrusion by non-sworn individuals. The goals of community policing often conflict with standard police performance criteria.
