Compare and contrast simultaneous repeated reading (neurological impress) and echo reading.

What will be an ideal response?

Simultaneous repeated reading involves the student and teacher reading aloud together. The teacher gradually makes her voice softer with each repeated reading until the student is taking over as the reader. Echo reading involves teacher modeling of fluent reading and the student repeating the same section of text as an “echo”. Both methods allow opportunities for teacher modeling and student practice, but simultaneous repeated reading offers teacher guidance through the reading as her voice is supporting the student’s as he practices.
