List and describe the characteristics of trustworthiness.
What will be an ideal response?
Integrity is being honest. It is the most important dimension; without it, you will not be trusted. To have integrity, don’t lie, cheat, or steal from others, and be fair by creating a win-win situation for everyone.
Competence is getting the task done. Know your strengths and limitations and don’t commit to doing something you can’t deliver on. Competent people admit their mistakes and apologize when they don’t deliver as expected.
Consistency is predictability in competence. Always keep your commitments. If you say you will do something, be sure to actually deliver.
Loyalty is looking out for others’ interest. Good friends even put others’ needs before their own. No narcissistic backstabbing and taking advantage of others. If someone tells you something in confidence (a secret), don’t tell others. Don’t gossip negatively about others, because people will assume you gossip about them to others, too.
