How can giving users control of the data they will see, like in a parameter query or report, be helpful? When can using a parameter query or report not be helpful? Are there times when this might be more of a hindrance than a help to the user?

What will be an ideal response?

Many times a user wants to see very specific data, like a city, zip code, product number, or inventory number. By letting the user enter criteria into a parameter query, the results will be very specific and the user will not have to sort through data they are not interested in. A parameter query may not be helpful when the user does not know what they are looking for, or when the data is not entered consistently, so when they enter criteria it may not find all the records and the user would not know it.
