What will be an ideal response?

The hiring process for new police officers is known as the “hurdle process.” Some of the most common tests used include written examinations (both general knowledge and psychological tests), physical agility tests, personal interviews, character investigations or background checks, polygraph examinations, medical examinations, and drug screening tests. Assessment centers are becoming more popular with police agencies for hiring not only chief executives but other new personnel as well.
