What will be an ideal response?
Fractures are primarily grouped into two types: closed or simple and open or compound. In closed or simple fractures, the skin is not broken, but in open or compound fractures, the skin is broken. Other categories include comminuted fractures, which result in fragmentation of the bone; compression fractures, which result from being crushed; displaced fractures, which cause an abnormal alignment of bone pieces; nondisplaced fractures in which bones retain their alignment; epiphyseal fractures, which are breaks at the growth plate; greenstick fractures, which are slight breaks; and spiral fractures, which are caused by twisting along a long bone.
