Why do eukaryotic chromosomes have multiple origins of replication? Design an experiment that allows you to test your hypothesis
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Multiple origin of replication sites allows the DNA to be more efficiently replicated. Experimentally, origin of replication sequences could be added and deleted in a eukaryotic chromosome. Replication of chromosomes with fewer origin sites would occur more slowly, whereas the same chromosome with additional origins of replication would be replicated more quickly.
