Describe how a risk can be considered “acceptable.”
What will be an ideal response?
Residual risk includes those risks that are considered “acceptable” as well as those that have yet to be identified. In other words, after protective measures have been taken, the residual risk is that risk which remains. An example of an acceptable risk might be the noise exposure of ramp personnel. In this case, it is not practical to “engineer out” the exposure to noise. The risk is considered “acceptable” only after minimizing the risk through proper training, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and perhaps minimizing the length of exposure.
