Describe the relationship between beliefs, values, and attitudes. Of the three, can you identify the one that is more general and the one that is narrower?
What will be an ideal response?
Beliefs, attitudes and values are all interdependent because our values are at the core of who we are and convey our long-standing ideals. Values influence our beliefs regarding what we believe to be
true and false, which in turn influence our attitudes toward ideas, events, people, etc. Our behavior
reveals all three of these aspects of our self-concept by illustrating to others what we value, believe
and feel about a given topic. Additionally, values are more general and broad-based, while attitudes are narrow.
