How must police agency culture militate against, and often be changed in order to accommodate, a wellness program?

What will be an ideal response?

Police leaders must recognize that accountability to their officers is the number one factor in providing the best safety and wellness practices. Leaders are responsible, for example, to see that constant equipment compliance checks, proper weapons deployment, and policy and procedure enforcement are performed in order to minimize officer injuries and fatalities. Such ongoing monitoring and the enforcing of compliance will set the tone for meeting high standards, expectations, and practices for ensuring officer safety.
