Two advantages of DSLR cameras are 1) they allow for the use of a wide range of lenses, flashes, and filters, and 2) they give photographers the option of manually selecting f-stop, shutter speed, and other variables associated with photography. Digitial SLRs also have the advantage of a large microchip that produces better images and print quality than "point and shoot" digital cameras.
