Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, which takes into account the many ways in which people express their knowledge, including aspects associated with creativity. Gardner’s theory suggests that there are ways of learning that go beyond those traditionally included in education and those measured in traditional tests of intelligence. The following are potential examples of the different types of intelligence: a person displays linguistic intelligence when writing a story; a person displays logico-mathematical intelligence when analyzing the percentage of chemicals in a substance; a person displays musical intelligence when composing a song; a person displays bodily kinesthetic intelligence when dribbling a soccer ball; a person displays visual-spatial intelligence when drawing a portrait; a person displays naturalistic intelligence when discovering the connection between pollution and the life cycle of a creature in the affected environment.
