What advantage does a switch have over a hub?
What will be an ideal response?
A hub simply connects all systems together and shares the network band-
width among the systems. Hubs are simpler than switches and can be used
to investigate network protocols. A switch sends each packet only to the
device it is intended for, improving security and lowering the chance of
packet collision. Because a switch sends packets only to their destination
devices, it conserves network bandwidth and offers better performance than
a hub. In addition, because a switch does not send packets to every port, it
is more secure.
