Compare and contrast the life cycles of the cellular and the acellular slime molds

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Acellular (or plasmodial) slime molds have plasmodial vegetative forms that contain diploid nuclei. Cellular slime molds have haploid nuclei in their vegetative form. Both are motile in their vegetative forms and obtain nutrition through engulfing particles. When conditions are favorable, both also produce fruiting bodies that differentiate into spores.
