What explanations have been suggested for the age-related decline in frequency of marital intercourse?
What will be an ideal response?
There are two general explanations suggested for the age-related decline in frequency: biological aging, and habituation to sex with the partner. With regard to aging, there may be physical factors associated with age that affect sexual frequency, such as a decrease in vaginal lubrication in females, or increased likelihood of poor health. The habituation explanation states that we lose interest in sex as the partner becomes more and more familiar.
