In general, air terminals should:

? | be placed on the perimeter of flat roofs at intervals not exceeding 20 ft (6 m) and within 2 ft (600 mm) of the edge. |
? | be placed in the center of a roof area at intervals not exceeding 50 ft (15 m); |
? | be placed on dormers and chimneys, except when these projections are protected by other terminals. |
