Scalability
For each of the following system attributes, describe how process migration can increase it in a system and an inefficient implementation reduce it.
Process migration allows the system to load-balance effectively. Large-scale systems can handle heavy loads by moving processes around to equally distribute processing responsibility and reduce communication cost. However, process migration can decrease scalability if an implementation allows a lot of residual dependency. If process dependencies and state information grow with each migration, the system can be quickly overwhelmed.
