What processes are available for inmates to appeal a disciplinary decision or seek to redress wrongs done them by prison staff?
What will be an ideal response?
• There is typically an informal administrative appeals process for inmates to appeal a disciplinary sanction or to seek remedy of any other injustice they feel they have received at the hands of correctional officials. Administrative appeals usually have at least two levels: first,a reconsideration by the warden; and if the inmate is not satisfied with the response, a second level of reconsideration by the agency headquarters.
