Describe the flow of water from the ground into the water table and to a stream, lake or swamp. What will be an ideal response?

Water enters the ground and moves downward by gravity through the zone of aeration and into the
zone of saturation. When it reachest the water table, it moves from where the watertable is high toward
where it is lower, such as a stream, lake or swamp. Some of the water follows the direct route along
the slope but some takes a more curving path.
