Explain the two main reasons why crime control is such a controversial aspect of policing?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer may vary. Crime control is controversial for two main reasons. First, crime control seeks to control peoples’ behavior. As criminals are not always easily identified, tactics may target the entire community. Second, the police sometimes have to use aggressive or controversial tactics to deal with criminal activity. One example of a controversial crime control tactic is stop, question, frisk (SQF). As many people who are stopped will have not engaged in any illegal activity, SQF can damage the relationship between the police and the community, and in the long run be detrimental to law enforcement efforts to control crime.
