Identify and describe two factors that may affect a child’s well-being following a divorce.
What will be an ideal response?
The research shows that the age at divorce and the parent’s attitudes toward one another both impact a child’s well-being following a divorce. Younger children are more likely to adjust positively to a parental divorce than a child who is 12 or 13. When parents treat with each other with respect following a divorce the child is less negatively impacted than when they fight and act disrespectfully toward one another.
