Explain the aims and dual goals of the Nuclear Non?Proliferation Treaty which Iran ratified in 1970

What will be an ideal response?

The Nuclear Non?Proliferation Treaty has three main aims: non?proliferation,
disarmament, and the right to peaceful use of nuclear technology. The NPT has dual
objectives: for countries like Iran, the NPT creates guarantees to technology and
requires transparency of nuclear activities and scientific development. For the five
signatory countries that have publicly declared they possess nuclear weapons, the
United Kingdom, France, Russia, China, and the United States, the NPT creates
obligations to transfer technology.
