What is the role of EF-Ts in translation?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: The active form of the elongation factor EF-Tu has a GTP. The GTP is hydrolyzed so that the CCA end of the tRNA can bind the 50S subunit. EF-Ts displaces the GDP from EF-Tu, allowing it to regenerate the GTP bound active form.
