ANS: Principle I is concerned with the educator's commitment to the student. It focuses on helping the student realize her or his potential as an effective member of society. Principle I focuses on stimulating inquiry, acquisition of knowledge, and formulation of goals. The obligations are related to the student. Principle II is concerned with the educator's commitment to the profession of teaching – professional standards and judgment. It emphasizes the trust that the public places in educators and their responsibility to live up to high ideals of professional service.
