The Maryland Department of Corrections is demanding that job applicants provide the

passwords to their Facebook accounts, so they can be investigated in pre-hiring
screening. Many employers already search the Internet for information about job
applicants, but this goes a step further.

What will be an ideal response?

Should employers have the right to investigate
applicants by demanding these passwords? Do job applicants have a right to protect
their privacy on password-protected sites they established before applying for these
jobs? Defend your conclusions by using ethical arguments.
