What will be an ideal response?


Surveys indicate that there has been a steady decline in the percentage of Americans who trust the government in Washington to do the right thing since the 1950s. However, people are talking about government officials, not our system of government. Public confidence in the 1950s may have been abnormally high. (We expect much more out of government today and can be more easily disappointed.)
