Eyewitness identification and description is regarded as the most unreliable form of evidence and causes more miscarriages of justice than any other method of proof. Research and courtroom experience provide ample evidence that an eyewitness to a crime is being asked to be something and do something that is not easily accomplished. Human perception is sloppy and uneven.
