Define the lumbar pelvic rhythm and describe how tight hamstrings alter the rhythm

What will be an ideal response?

The lumbar pelvic rhythm is the coordinated movement between the lumbar spine and the hip joints. During a normal range of forward bending, the lumbar spine flexes first, then the hips flex to lower the trunk even farther. When the hamstrings are tight, they limit the range of hip flexion. The lumbar spine compensates by flexing past a normal range and going into hyperflexion, which overstretches the posterior spinal ligaments and destabilizes the lumbar spine.
