The second social revolution was the emergence of an agricultural society with the invention of the plow. The invention of the steam engine led to the emergence of an industrialized society based on secondary, rather than primary relationships. The invention of the microchip has resulted in the emergence of a global society in which people can communicate with others in the world instantaneously.
