What does Queer Theory add to the theories on aging?

What will be an ideal response?

Queer theory rejects heteronormativity and is a more inclusive perspective for those who do not identify with the heterosexual community. It destabilizes reliance on a binary view of gender and is thought to be particularly helpful to inclusion of transgendered individual through the aging process. The perspective is thought to be very helpful during “gender transitions” during adulthood. Mostly it forces the profession to question the understanding of healthy growth and development over the course of adulthood and the aging process.
