Do you think more Americans will seek preventive care if they have coverage? Some policymakers believe that forcing individuals to purchase health insurance coverage will result in patients seeking care unnecessarily
This train of thought surrounds the belief that if individuals must pay for a policy, they will think they must seek care in order to get their money's worth. What do you think of this line of thought?
With health insurance coverage, it is likely that more Americans will seek preventive care. While it is possible that some people will seek medical care more frequently simply because those people have insurance coverage, it will be partly the physicians' responsibilities to help patients understand how and when to use the healthcare system.
