The constant guide in understanding communication is the relationships we have
with other people. The relationship perspective is based on the belief that
communication and relationships are interconnected and intertwined. Any type of
communication we’ve ever participated in has a relationship assumed underneath it.
Relationships shared by people will influence what is communicated, how it is shared,
and the meanings that develop.
