No, the tables in the Chapter indicate a clear negative relation between the two, but it is not perfect. There are a number of high turnover emerging markets (such as Taiwan) that may have higher transaction costs than some lower turnover developed markets. The Illustration Box on the Casablanca exchange provides another example of an imperfect relation between turnover and trading costs.
