Explain the difference between normal-weight (NW) structural concrete and lightweight (LW) structural concrete.
What will be an ideal response?
NW structural concrete is made from NW coarse aggregate and LW structural concrete is made from LW coarse aggregate. The other ingredients (fine aggregate, Portland cement, and water) in both are same. By definition, the density of NW structural concrete is 130-155 lb/cft; that of LW structural concrete is 85 -115 lb/cft.
