Does your game need a multi-layered interface (e.g., menu systems, inventory items) or some¬thing simpler? Why/why not?
What will be an ideal response?
A multi-layered interface may be particularly relevant in games created for devices (such as mobile) with limited screen real estate. However, this style of interface is not necessary if the game doesn’t require interface depth with regard to systems (e.g., inventory, navigation, combat, communication). Students should describe all player actions that might require more complexity and analyze whether or not this is actually necessary. For example, could an inventory system require the simple button toggle – or will it be necessary to provide categorization and other management elements?
