What is the difference between a spreader and a squeegee?

Spreaders are used to apply body filler and are made of rigid plastic. A squeegee is a flexible rubber pad or block used to apply glazing putty and light coats of body filler. It is also used to skim water and sanding grit from the repair area when wet sanding.
