A temperature-differential defrost system will not go into defrost. This is the most common complaint on this control. Describe the correct solution to this problem

What will be an ideal response?

The main reason that the unit will not go into defrost is that the coil will not reach a low enough temperature to provide an increase in the control differential to activate the defrost cycle. The major reason for this is that the discharge pressure is too high, which forces the suction pressure and coil boiling point up. If the discharge pressure is too high, this can very often be attributed to an airflow problem. The duct system may be inadequate, the indoor coil may be dirty or plugged, or the blower may not be operating properly.
